Don’t touch my constitution: Togo plans three-day protest over constitution change

 A Togolese committee, the Action Committee for Renewal(CAR) and Touche pas à Ma Constitution (Don't touch my Constitution) invite the Togolese population to respond to the call for demonstrations.

A Togolese committee, the Action Committee for Renewal(CAR), and Touche pas à Ma Constitution (Don’t touch my Constitution), invite the Togolese population to respond to a call for demonstrations by a group of political parties.

The “Touche pas à Ma Constitution” movement, comprised of around 20 entities, calls on Togolese men and women in the interior and diaspora to participate massively in these protest marches.

Robert Yao Daté’s Action Committee for Renewal (CAR) called on the government to abandon the desire to change the constitution and called on all Togolese society to join peaceful demonstrations.

Protest demonstrations against rewriting the new constitution will occur in the latter part of the week, beginning on Thursday,11th April, and continuing on April 12th and 13th, 2024.

The legislative and regional elections are postponed indefinitely, and socio-political consultations are held about the law changing the constitution.
