The Accra Region Police command is investigating the National Democratic Congress (NDC) national vice-chairman Said Sinare over allegations that he has distributed weapons to some people to cause chaos during the 7 December poll.

Tahiru Ahmed, the Ayawaso North constituency chairperson of the NDC is reported to have told the police that Sinare supplied guns to some youth to foment trouble in the upcoming election.

Following this claim, Sinare has been invited to the Greater Accra Regional Police command to answer questions on the allegation.

Massed up

Scores of Supporters of the National Democratic Congress have massed up at the Police Headquarters following the invitation of the national vice-chairman of the NDC.

Reports suggest the constituency chairman, Tahiru Ahmed presented an AK -47 and pump action gun to the police as evidence of the arms given out by the NDC national vice-chairman.

Sinare, who has been interrogated for over two hours on Thursday is said to be in the company of his lawyers, Baba Jamal and Abraham Amaliba.

Sanctions

Meanwhile, Sinare has written to the national executive of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to sanction Tahiru Ahmed after denying the allegations.

Sinare said the move by Tahiru is an act of disloyalty, and a will to fight against the interest of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

“Mr Ahmed has been my permanent employee for the past eight years until last year when his appointment was terminated, as I had enough suspicion that he is a mole for the ruling party…This singular action initiated at this time, confirms my suspicion that he was working against the party’s interest and intend to bring myself and the party’s name into disrepute,” the letter said.
