NDC polls: 37 to contest for 15 positions in Bono Region

The elections will take place between Friday (11 November) and Saturday (12 November) with the regional youth and women conference taking place today

A total of 37 aspirants are contesting for 15 regional executive positions in the elections of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Bono Region.

The elections will take place between Friday (11 November) and Saturday (12 November) with the regional youth and women conference taking place today.

Seven persons are going unopposed while eight positions are keenly being contested.

Those contesting unopposed are the regional chairman, Kwadwo Nyamekye-Marfo, a former Brong Ahafo regional minister under late President Atta Mills administration, Dennis Yeboah Twumasi, the secretary, and Peter Suaka Lonyian, the deputy secretary.

Others are, the organiser, Mohammed Seidu, Isaac Amponsah Badu, treasurer, the communications officer, Charles Akowuah Tuffour and Eric Adjei, the deputy communications officer. Five aspirants are vying for the vice chairmanship position, three for the deputy organiser position and another three contesting for the deputy treasurer position.

Others include; two candidates for the women organiser position, four for the deputy women organiser, three contenders for the youth organiser position, five for deputy youth organiser position and five contesting for the Zongo caucus coordinator slot.

The five individuals contesting for the vice chairperson position are; Ali Ibrahim Adjei, Kwadwo Takyi-Arhin, Osei Kwadwo Hayford, Ibrahim Gariba and Kwame Sakyi.
