NDC Concerned Youth of Walewale demand revocation of NADMO coordinator’s appointment and others

NDC Concerned Youth of Walewale/NADMO/YEA

The NDC Concerned Youth of Walewale is demanding the revocation of the appointment of Yidana Asana as the coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) for the West Mamprusi Municipal Assembly.

They called for the revocation of the North East Regional accountant of the YEA, Abdulai Saidq. The group has threatened to destroy party properties and lock some offices if President Mahama fails to revoke these appointments.

In a press conference held on Wednesday (18 June 2025), at the party’s “Do or Die Parliament” in Walewale, the group expressed their discontent with the appointment.

According to them, the appointment of Yidana Asana was a surprise to the Regional Minister, the Regional Chairman of the NDC, and the Walewale Constituency Chairman.

The group claims that prior to the 2024 elections, the party had promised to appoint Iddrisu Inusah to the position but instead appointed an unknown party member, thereby deceiving him.

The press statement was read by Wasibu Aziz.

“As youth who sacrificed our time, resources, and energy foe the NDC especially, in just ended general elections we find it extremely disheartening that our loyalty, hardwork and commitment are being undermined by self-seeking individuals both at the national and some government national appointees of the North. Immediately revoke the appointment of Hajia Asana Yidana as the acting municipal NADMO coordinator for West mamprusi, and the right person should be Haruna Inusah who is the constituency organiser for Walewale,” he said.

Additionally, the group is calling for the revocation of the appointment of Sadiq, the North East Regional Accountant of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), who they accuse of being an NPP member.

The group also alleges that the NDC parliamentary candidate for the Walewale constituency and his supporters are being sidelined in the appointment process.

They argue that the national party leadership is not consulting with constituency executives before making appointments, resulting in the selection of individuals who are not beneficial to the party at the grassroots level.

“We are also witnessing a trend where loyalty executive members who stood firm for party and the parliamentary candidate is being sidelined while those who were sabotaging the party efforts are being favoured with positions and appointments.”

“This is not only unjust, it is dangerous. Appointment [given] to an NPP agent is a shocking term of event Abdulai Sadiq, who served as polling station agent for NPP in the last elections, has been appointed as the regional accountant of YEA. This appointment has made a mockery of us [and] our sacrifice, and call into questioning the direction of the party,” Wasibu added.

The group say they will not sit aloof and allow things to keep favouring unknown party members.
