The former Nigerian president Olusegun Obasanjo has called on the Ghanaian former president John Dramani Mahama to express his condolences on the death of Mahama’s brother Emmanuel Adam Mahama.
The Nigerian public figure and African statesman, who was in Accra to hand over the chair of the African continental Tana High-Level Forum on Security to the former Ghanaian president, used the opportunity also to commiserate with the Mahama family.
He also said special prayers for the former president and his family.
Emmanuel Adam Mahama, a younger brother of the president, died on Friday 31 December 2021 after a short illness. He has already since been buried, in line with Muslim tradition.
The final funeral rites will be held on Sunday 30 January 2022 at Bole in the Savannah Region.
