The National House of Chiefs has paid glowing tribute to its former president, Naa Professor John Sebiyam Nabila, following his passing.
In a statement issued in Kumasi, the House described the late Wulugu Naba and Paramount Chief of the Wulugu Traditional Area as a distinguished statesman, academic and traditional ruler whose life embodied humility, wisdom, and commitment to national unity.
Naa Prof. Nabila, who also served as Member of Parliament for Walewale and Minister of State for Presidential Affairs and Information under the Limann administration, was president of the National House of Chiefs between 2008 and 2016.
He also served three terms as a member of the Council of State and taught at the University of Ghana, Legon, where he earned national respect for his scholarship and mentorship.
The National House of Chiefs noted that under his leadership, the institution strengthened its role in governance, mediation, and national cohesion, helping to build bridges between traditional authority and the state.
It added that Naa Prof. Nabila’s calm influence and integrity left a legacy that will continue to guide Ghana’s chieftaincy institution for generations.
The House extended condolences to his family and the people of Kpasenkpe and Wulugu, describing his death as an irreplaceable loss to the Mamprugu Kingdom and the nation.
