GWCL embarks on nationwide revenue mobilisation exercise

"Disconnected customers will be made to pay their bills in full, together with reconnection fees, before they are reconnected," the GWCL notice said

The management of the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has informed the public that a nationwide revenue mobilisation exercise has taken off to recover all arrears owed by customers.

“Disconnected customers will be made to pay their bills in full, together with reconnection fees, before they are reconnected,” the GWCL notice said.

“We, therefore, advise our valued customers to make efforts to pay their bills and clear all arrears to avoid being disconnected.”

According to the management of GWCL, all customers are to make available evidence of settled arrears to the company to avoid being disconnected from the supply points.

“Also, customers who have paid via mobile money or other electronic means will need to show SMS or electronic payment receipts as proof of payment,” it added.

The statement said all persons found engaging in illegal connections, self-reconnections, or the use of in-line booster pumps at the customer’s premises shall also be handed over to the police for prosecution.

“Management entreats customers to cooperate with the teams as they undertake this all-important exercise in our effort to collect and mobilise the much-needed revenue to improve our water supply service in the country.”
