The Minister of Energy, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh has said nuclear energy is crucial to Ghana’s energy security in the medium to long term.

Opoku Prempeh made the remarks during a meeting with the director general of the Nuclear Energy Agency,  William D Magwood at the Energy Ministry on Monday (6 November).

“We are leaving no stone unturned in our nuclear energy efforts, as it is key, to Ghana’s energy security in the medium to long term.”

“I therefore continue to hold productive discussions with key stakeholders in this direction.
I held engagements earlier today, with the Director General of the Nuclear Energy Agency, Mr. William D Magwood,” he said.

“Similar engagements were held with senior officials of the China National Nuclear Cooperation Overseas Limited. Deliberations centered on Ghana’s forward surge in the nuclear energy space,” Opoku Prempeh added.
