The Ministry of Finance has announced the appointment of Naomi Wolali Kwetey as the new Managing Director of Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG).
Sheila Azuntaba was also appointed as the Deputy Managing Director. The appointments, effective 26 March 2025, follow nominations by President John Dramani Mahama.
In an official letter addressed to the Board Chairman of CBG, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, directed the bank to regularise the appointments in line with the Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992) and the bank’s constitution with the nominees’ curricula vitae were attached for further action.
The move signals a fresh leadership direction for CBG as it continues to strengthen its position in Ghana’s banking sector.
Naomi Wolali Kwetey, an accomplished financial expert, brings over 25 years of experience in the banking sector to her role as Managing Director of Consolidated Bank Ghana Ltd (CBG).
She holds a Doctorate in Business Administration and has a strong academic and professional background.
Throughout her career, Naomi Kwetey has held several prominent leadership roles, including Deputy Head of Credit Administration and Head of Customer Experience at Ecobank Ghana. Her expertise in credit management, customer service, and banking operations has played a key role in shaping Ghana’s financial landscape.
