The Nanton District Assembly has reaffirmed its commitment to improving educational infrastructure with the sod cutting for a three-unit classroom block at Love and Grace Mission School in Nanton.
The ceremony drew the participation of traditional leaders, education officials, parents, teachers, and pupils, reflecting a shared dedication to enhancing learning conditions across the district.
The new facility, once completed, will significantly expand access to quality education for learners in the area.
Speaking at the event, the District Chief Executive for Nanton, Rosina Zainab Abdul-Rahman, commended Love and Grace Mission School for its steadfast devotion to both academic excellence and moral training. He highlighted that education remains a cornerstone of the district’s development agenda and assured stakeholders of the Assembly’s continued support for initiatives that uplift the learning environment.
He remarked, “This project represents our collective vision to ensure that every child in Nanton learns in comfort and safety, free from overcrowded classrooms and limited resources.”
The headmaster of Love and Grace Mission School, in his address, expressed gratitude to the Assembly for this timely intervention. He noted that the school has faced increasing enrolment in recent years, leading to congestion that hampers effective teaching and learning.
The new classrooms, he emphasized, will not only ease the burden on teachers but also create a more conducive atmosphere for students to learn and thrive.
He further recognised the vital role of private schools in complementing government efforts to expand educational access and nurture disciplined, well-rounded citizens.
This project stands as a testament to the Nanton District Assembly’s vision of Education for All. It aligns with broader national goals of achieving inclusive, equitable, and quality education at all levels.
