Nana Agradaa yet to be transferred to Nsawam Prison after 15-year sentence – Crime Check Foundation raises concerns

The Director of the Crime Check Foundation (CCF), Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng, has alleged that former fetish priestess turned evangelist Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, has not yet been transferred to the Nsawam Female Prison, days after her conviction and sentencing.

In a video shared on social media, Kwarteng expressed concern over the delay in Agradaa’s relocation to the correctional facility following her 15-year jail sentence.

“As at now, our checks show Agradaa is not in the Nsawam Female Prison. So, where is our sister? She was sentenced on Thursday evening,” he stated.

Agradaa was handed the sentence by an Accra Circuit Court after being found guilty on multiple counts, including defrauding by false pretence and promoting charlatanic activities.

Kwarteng attributed the delay in her transfer to administrative bottlenecks and the public holiday that followed the court’s decision.

“There are a lot of administrative procedures that the court does. Unfortunately, Friday was a holiday. She couldn’t have been taken to prison because, if the administrative process is not done, she can’t be taken there. It’s a bit bureaucratic. Probably, on Monday or Tuesday, they may take her to the Nsawam Female Prison and we will verify,” he explained.

He further debunked circulating rumours suggesting that Agradaa had been assaulted while in custody. “For now, I will say all speculations about someone assaulting her in prison should be dismissed with a vicious wave of the left hand,” he added.
