Musah Superior, a general secretary aspirant of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has given assurance to party supporters that he will lobby for jobs for them if he wins.
Superior said the current leadership of the New Patriotic Party has failed members when it comes to seeking their welfare.
Speaking to sit-in host of The Asaase Breakfast Show on Thursday (22 June), Superior said: “The most efficient way to organise is empowerment. We all know the mantra Dr Kwame Nkrumah said sometime ago that organisations decide everything, it is no longer relevant now because organisations decide nothing.”
“It is empowerment and that is why I am encouraging this party that look, we should modernise it. I want us to manage this party along modernisation, so that we can lobby. It is not illegal to lobby for your party people to get jobs.

The former Tamale mayor said he will introduce a business development unit to mainly deal with empowering members.

NPP leadership “not fit for purpose”
Superior also said that factionalism within the party should not be frowned upon because it spearheads growth.
Political watchers have warned that the two main factions within the party – Alan-Bawumia – could create divisions within the party in the lead-up to the 2024 general election.
“I think that the current general secretary [John Boadu] and any other officer currently serving should [be let] go! I don’t think they are fit for purpose. I believe that there are brighter and more intelligent people who can better work in that capacity for the party,” Superior said.
“We need good assertive leadership that will ensure that we can cohesively and more strongly work to achieve the party’s aims. This party was built on selfless values. Now we see elected members declaring their support for people. This is reckless and undermines the cohesion and unity of the party,” Superior said.
