Mr Beast says his charity videos perform the worst—even though they’re changing lives

Despite changing lives through acts of kindness, Mr Beast says his lowest-performing videos are the ones where he helps people.

Jimmy Donaldson, widely known as Mr Beast, has built his YouTube empire on mind-blowing challenges, outrageous giveaways, and larger-than-life productions. But in a recent revelation that surprised fans and fellow creators alike, the YouTube philanthropist shared that his videos focused on helping people are actually the worst-performing on his channel.

Despite delivering life-changing impact—like helping 2,000 people regain their vision or feeding entire communities—Mr Beast said these feel-good efforts garner the fewest views. In fact, his two lowest-performing videos this year were titled “I Helped 2,000 People Walk Again” and “Watch This Video to Feed 1,000,000 People”, which received 24.3M and 21.3M views respectively. While these numbers may seem massive to most creators, they pale in comparison to his entertainment-style videos that rack up upwards of 49 million views in the same time frame.

This revelation challenges a long-held belief that kindness-driven content naturally captures more attention online. Instead, Mr Beast’s data reveals a harsher truth: audiences are more drawn to high-stakes stunts, competitions, and extravagant challenges than to pure acts of goodwill.

Still, Mr Beast remains committed to using his platform for good—even if it means sacrificing views. His impact has gone far beyond YouTube, setting a new standard for creators using entertainment as a tool for global change.
