Missing pregnant woman reportedly found in Axim

Josephine Panyin Mensah Simons, the missing pregnant woman allegedly kidnapped in Takoradi

The 28-year-old pregnant woman who was allegedly kidnapped in Takoradi a few days ago has reportedly been found, top police sources say.

The police command in the Western Region is expected to issue a statement about the development shortly.

Josephine Simons, who is nine months pregnant and went missing after going for her normal morning walk on Thursday 16 September 2021, is receiving medical attention.

Speaking to Asaase News last Thursday, Michael Simons, Josephine’s husband, said the alleged kidnappers established contact with the family to demand a ransom a few hours after his wife went missing.

“They called and gave the phone to her to talk to her mother to make some demands,” Michael Simons said.

“We wanted to know what they want, but we’ve lost contact since then. So, we’ve informed the police about it,” he said.
