Education

Jinapor holds a Master of Arts degree in Economic Policy Management and an MBA in Marketing from the University of Ghana.

Additionally, he has a Master of Science degree in Energy Economics from GIMPA and a Postgraduate Diploma in Finance and Financial Law from the University of London.

His appointment signals President Mahama’s commitment to addressing the country’s energy challenges.

Career in Politics

John Abdulai Jinapor is a prominent Ghanaian politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for the Yapei Kusawgu Constituency since 7 January 2017. He represents the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and has played a vital role in the party’s efforts to promote development and equity in his constituency and beyond.

Before becoming a Member of Parliament, John Jinapor was an active political figure within the NDC and served as the Deputy Minister of Power under President John Dramani Mahama‘s administration. In this role, he played a crucial part in Ghana’s energy sector, working on strategies to stabilise the country’s power supply and improve energy infrastructure.

Parliamentary Role

As an MP, Jinapor has served on key parliamentary committees, particularly those related to energy, finance, and national development. His advocacy for reliable energy solutions and equitable development in rural areas has been a cornerstone of his work in Parliament.
