Regional Minister credits MTN for bringing Ashantifest vision to life

Beyond the concert, MTN Ghana also sponsored other key components of the festival, including a Kids Music Festival, a health screening, and a blood donation drive—further reinforcing its role in community development

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has praised MTN Ghana for its pivotal role in supporting Ashantifest, a cultural festival aimed at showcasing the heritage and creative potential of Asanteman.

Speaking at the Ashanti Konnect Concert, a flagship event of the festival, Dr. Amoakohene commended the telecommunications giant for standing out among the festival’s corporate sponsors.

“The success of this evening’s event is largely due to the generosity and commitment of MTN Ghana. They have been instrumental in bringing this vision to life,” he told a cheering crowd at Kumasi’s Rattray Park.

The concert, which drew thousands of music lovers, featured performances by some of Ghana’s top artistes including Okyeame Kwame, Strongman Burner, Brother Sammy, Jack Alolome, the Tagoe Sisters, Beeztrap, and others. The event created a vibrant, celebratory atmosphere that carried into the night.

Beyond the concert, MTN Ghana also sponsored other key components of the festival, including a Kids Music Festival, a health screening, and a blood donation drive—further reinforcing its role in community development.

Dr. Amoakohene encouraged the public to continue supporting MTN Ghana, saying sustained patronage would enable the company to back more cultural and developmental initiatives.

Ashantifest, which was launched this year by the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council, has turned the region into a buzzing cultural hub. The month-long celebration includes events across fashion, sports, arts, and tourism—offering stakeholders new platforms to grow their enterprises and reach broader audiences.

Organisers say the festival is positioning the Ashanti Region as both a cultural powerhouse and a centre for innovation, with corporate partnerships proving crucial to its early success.
