Mike Oquaye: Ghana needs Bawumia as president

The former Speaker of Parliament says President Nana Akufo-Addo's heir apparent is Dr Mahamudu Bawumia

A former Speaker of Ghana’s Parliament, Rev Prof Mike Aaron Oquaye, is rooting for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the vice-president, to become the flagbearer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He said Ghanaians can be assured of a solid future under the stewardship of Dr Bawumia as president.

He touted the life-changing policy initiatives of Dr Bawumia as the engines that will see to the continuous growth and development of the economy.

When asked how he sees the future of Ghana under Bawumia, Prof Oquaye said: “It would be fantastic if we are able to continue with this digitilisation and automation, including ICT of Dr Bawumia.”

Innovative ideas

In an interview with Okyeman TV at his residence, Prof Oquaye said the vice-president has spearheaded a number of innovative ideas leading to increase in revenue collection at the ports.

The GPS Addressing System, mobile money interoperability, digitalisation in renewing National Health Insurance are some of the many technological advancements Dr Bawumia has brought into the system.
