The Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF) has refuted claims that legal advisers advised against restating its 2024 audited accounts, after local media reported otherwise.
In a letter sent to Asaase Broadcasting Company, for instance, Beyuo & Co, solicitors representing MIIF CEO Justina Nelson, said a paragraph in the broadcaster’s 8 December report was “wholly false, untrue, and a misrepresentation of the facts.”
The disputed paragraph suggested that OSAD Legal Services, led by Dr. Eric Oduro Osae, had warned MIIF against rewriting signed accounts, and that the CEO had ignored this advice.
Beyuo & Co clarified that, while OSAD Legal Services represents MIIF in ongoing legal matters, the firm has not provided any advice regarding MIIF’s correspondence with the Auditor-General on the 2024 financial statements.
