McBrown breaks silence on false accusations in Suzzy Williams’ death

McBrown

Ghanaian actress and TV host Nana Ama Agyemang McBrown has publicly addressed the deeply hurtful and unfounded rumours that linked her to the tragic death of her fellow actress, the late Suzzy Williams.

Suzzy Williams, a rising star in the Ghanaian film industry, tragically passed away in a car accident in 2005 at the age of 23.

Following her untimely demise, malicious rumours began circulating, falsely accusing McBrown of involvement in her death. These accusations were fuelled by unfounded claims of jealousy and competition within the film industry.

In a heartfelt revelation on her show, “Onua Showtime,” on Friday (24 January 2025), McBrown expressed her shock and heartbreak over these malicious rumours.

“Why would I do such an abominable thing? Suzzy was like a sister to me,” she stated, emphasising the close bond they shared and the lack of any animosity between them.

“I had just returned to Ghana from a trip to Italy with the late gospel singer Seth Frimpong. While in a minibus heading home, I heard on the radio that Suzzy had passed away. I immediately called our senior colleague Kofi Adjorlolo, who confirmed the news. He told me he was at the mortuary where Suzzy’s body had been sent,” she said.
McBrown strongly asserted her innocence, highlighting the significant emotional toll these unfounded claims had taken on her.
“I was devastated when I was accused of having a hand in Suzzy Williams’ death,” she said, describing the claims as unfounded and deeply hurtful.
The fatal accident involving Suzzy Williams occurred on the La-Nungua Highway in Accra early in the early hours of the day while she was travelling with her boyfriend.
