Majority Leader scolds NDC’s Agbodza for attacking former Chief Justice

Agbodza alleged the former chief Justice's era has witnessed the greatest number of miscarriages of justice whiles contributing to a debate in Parliament on Wednesday

The Majority Leader in Parliament, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu has berated the Minority Chief Whip, Kwame Governs Agbodza for attacking the former Chief Justice, Kwasi Anin-Yeboah, in his contribution on the floor of the House on Wednesday.

Agbodza alleged in his submission that the former Chief Justice’s tenure witnessed high number of miscarriages of justice while referring to the recent Supreme Court ruling, which annulled the election result of James Gyakye Quayson, the MP for Assin North in the Central Region.

“Governs Kwame Agbodza departed from our rules, using very objectionable and offensive words against the provisions of our own standing orders,” Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu said on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Thursday (8 June).

“And he attacked the former Chief Justice that his time witnessed the greatest number of miscarriages of justice, when he had no evidence, just such a blanket statement, and then he said the decision from the Supreme Court on Gyakye Quayson should be sensible to the people of this country,” the Suame MP told Nana Yaa Mensah.

“And he finds that, the decision of the court are not sensible to him, was it a call for insurrection against the judiciary? And we thought it was most unfortunate,” the Majority Leader added.
