Manchester United to face Leicester, Villa hosts Spurs in FA Cup fourth-round

As Premier League giants collide, minnows like Plymouth Argyle target another upset—will Liverpool fall victim to another shock?

Manchester United will face Leicester City in a high-stakes fourth-round FA Cup clash, while Aston Villa host Tottenham Hotspur in another all-Premier League showdown as the road to Wembley heats up.

United advanced to this stage in dramatic fashion, edging out Arsenal in a nail-biting penalty shootout despite being reduced to ten men for much of the contest after Diogo Dalot’s dismissal.

The holders now prepare to host Leicester, managed by Ruud van Nistelrooy.

The former United striker, who lifted the FA Cup as a player in 2004, steered his side to an emphatic 6-2 triumph over QPR in the previous round.

Tottenham, meanwhile, endured a gruelling third-round battle, needing extra time to dispatch non-league Tamworth 3-0.

They now travel to Villa Park, where Aston Villa overcame West Ham United 2-1 after staging a spirited comeback on Friday (10 January).

Elsewhere, Championship side Plymouth Argyle, fresh from their shock victory over Premier League outfit Brentford, have been rewarded with a glamour tie at home to league leaders Liverpool.

The Reds will look to avoid becoming another giant-killing victim as they aim to progress further in the competition.

Chelsea, who have lifted the trophy eight times, face a challenging trip to the Amex Stadium to take on Brighton, while Everton will welcome Bournemouth to Goodison Park in another intriguing all-Premier League fixture.

Exeter City’s fairytale run continues with a daunting home tie against Nottingham Forest.

This marks the Grecians’ first appearance in the fourth round since 1981. League One leaders Birmingham City, meanwhile, will host Newcastle United in a matchup that promises to draw plenty of attention.

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City are set for an away day, travelling to face either Leyton Orient or Derby County.

Championship leaders Leeds United await the winner of Millwall versus Dagenham & Redbridge, with the tie scheduled at Elland Road.

Last season’s semi-finalists, Coventry City, under the guidance of Frank Lampard, have been drawn against Premier League side Ipswich Town.

Wolves, Crystal Palace, and Fulham all face away ties against Blackburn Rovers, Mansfield or Wigan, and Doncaster Rovers, respectively.

Southampton, who eased past Swansea in their third-round encounter, will welcome Burnley to St Mary’s, while Stoke City host Cardiff City in an all-Championship affair.

The fourth-round fixtures are scheduled to take place over the weekend of 8-9 February, with the Football Association set to confirm the final schedule in due course.
