Ghanaian makeup artist Roselyn Akosua Mantey has officially presented her Guinness World Records certificate to the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), following her historic achievement of the longest makeup marathon.
The symbolic presentation, which took place on Tuesday (8 April 2025), saw Mantey hand over the framed certificate to the GTA, recognising her 103-hour, 25-minute, and 33-second makeup marathon.
The feat was accomplished in Legon, Ghana, and began on 3 April 2024.
Mantey’s record-breaking session, which captured national and international attention, not only highlighted her personal dedication and resilience but also positioned Ghana prominently on the global beauty and creative arts map.
Speaking at the brief ceremony, officials from the Ghana Tourism Authority commended Mantey for her groundbreaking achievement and acknowledged the role such individual efforts play in promoting Ghanaian talent and innovation.
The GTA noted that her success has helped draw global attention to Ghana’s burgeoning beauty industry and contributes significantly to the country’s creative tourism drive.
Mantey, in a short speech, expressed her gratitude to her support team and all Ghanaians who rallied behind her during the marathon session.
She underscored the importance of resilience, passion, and national pride in pursuing one’s dreams.
“This is not just a personal win, it’s a win for Ghana, and I’m proud to be flying the flag high in the world of beauty.
“My certificate has Ghana’s name on it twice, that shows I stood in for my country, and I’m proud that the Ghana Tourism Authority came on board to share this with the world,” she said.
Her remarkable journey and the record-breaking moment continue to inspire many within and outside the beauty industry, serving as a testament to what dedication, skill, and support can achieve.
Her achievement adds to Ghana’s growing list of Guinness World Record holders and reflects the country’s creative spirit and limitless potential.
