Mahama to launch Atta Mills Memorial Heritage

A group of academics and other stakeholders have announced the establishment of the John Evans Atta Mills Memorial Heritage.

A statement issued on Wednesday (26 January) said the John Evans Atta Mills Memorial Heritage will be launched on 1 February at the University of Ghana.

The Memorial Heritage is a non-profit, independent, non-partisan organisation anchored in Prof Mills’s passion and commitment to inclusivity, transparency, accountability and his relentless quest for peace and a better society.

“A gathering of academics, proficient associates, students, family and appointees of  former President John Evans Atta Mills today announced the establishment of the John Evans Atta Mills (JEAM) Memorial Heritage,” it said.

“As indicated by an assertion gave by the Governing Board of the JEAM Memorial Heritage and endorsed by its Board Chairman, Alex Segbefia, who was Deputy Chief of Staff during the Mills’ organization, the John Evans Atta Mills Memorial Heritage will be sent off at the Cedi Conference Center, University of Ghana on Tuesday, February 1.”

The statement added: “Senior Economist and senior legislator, Mr. Kwame Pianim, will convey the fundamental discourse at the Launch. The topic for the Launch is, ‘The man John Evans Atta Mills – 10 years on.’ There will be topical introductions by Professor Akua Kuenyehia, previous President of the International Criminal Court, the Hague, Professor Francis Dodoo, a previous Pro-Vice Chancellor of University of Ghana and four-time Olympian and Dr. Esther Ofei-Aboagye, a previous Director of the Institute of Local Government Studies.”

Former President John Mahama is expected to launch the John Evans Atta Mills Memorial Heritage.
