President John Dramani Mahama will embark on a five-day working visit to South Korea from March 10 to March 14 to strengthen bilateral relations and explore new economic cooperation between the two countries, the government said.
In a statement, government spokesman Felix Kwakye Ofosu said Mahama would depart Accra on Sunday for the trip.
During the visit, the Ghanaian leader is expected to hold bilateral talks with Lee Jae Myung, President of South Korea, aimed at deepening diplomatic and economic ties.
Mahama will also meet the Speaker of the National Assembly of South Korea, Woo Won-shik, as part of engagements with South Korean political leadership.
According to the statement, the president will participate in a ship-naming ceremony at the shipyard of Hyundai Heavy Industries in the city of Ulsan.
He is also scheduled to deliver an address at a conferment ceremony at Yonsei University.
The visit will include a meeting with members of the Ghanaian community living, studying and working in South Korea, as well as a dinner engagement with business leaders and chief executives to discuss investment and trade opportunities between the two countries.
The trip forms part of efforts by the government of Ghana to expand economic partnerships and attract foreign investment.
