President John Mahama has appointed Matilda Asante-Asiedu as the Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana.
The appointment, made under Section 17 of the Bank of Ghana Act, 2002 (Act 612), was announced in a statement signed by presidential spokesperson and Minister for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu.
Asante-Asiedu, a seasoned banking executive, brings a wealth of experience to the role. She most recently served as Group Head of Retail Banking at Access Bank Ghana PLC, where she was credited with driving growth and innovation in the retail sector.
She holds an MBA in Marketing from GIMPA Business School and an MA in Journalism Studies from Cardiff University, alongside diplomas in Journalism from the Ghana Institute of Journalism and the International Institute of Journalism in Berlin.
In 2024, she earned certification as a Chartered Executive Banker from the Chartered Institute of Bankers (CIB-Ghana), further strengthening her financial sector credentials.
