Kwahu Easter heats up with Asaasepa car wash
Far from a routine cleanup, the event set the tone for a weekend of culture, entertainment, and community impact in Kwahu

The 2025 Asaasepa Kwahu Easter Festival is in full swing, and all roads led to Rich City Pub this morning for a lively car wash event organised by AsaasePa Radio 107.3 MHz, Accra.
Far from a routine cleanup, the event set the tone for a weekend of culture, entertainment, and community impact in Kwahu. The activity forms part of the station’s wider Easter activation, running through to Sunday (20 April).
Speaking at the venue, Head of Events at Asaase Broadcasting Company, Diego Parker, said the team began activation on Thursday at Joffel Catering Services, a popular stopover point for travellers.
“We interacted with people at Joffel to spread the word that Asaasepa will be in town with a line-up of exciting activities,” he said. “Today, the real deal begins at Rich City Pub, close to Nkawkaw Oseikrom near Icon Fuel station.”
He revealed that proceeds from the car wash will be used to purchase sanitary pads for schools in the Kwahu municipality — part of Asaase Broadcasting’s commitment to social impact.
“We’re not just here to entertain,” he added. “We want to leave a footprint in the community, and supporting girls with sanitary products is a key part of that.”
Diego also highlighted the festival’s blend of fun and relevance. “There’s something for everyone,” he noted. “From car washes and mountaintop concerts to cultural activations — it’s a celebration of identity, joy, and responsibility.”
The team will later move up the mountains to host the much-anticipated Aqaba Night and Jama sessions at Kwahu Bar.
Also speaking at the event, Penpensiwa host and festival organiser, Nana Akua Obomengniibaa, said the initiative is a mix of fun and purpose.
“We’re calling on everyone to bring their vehicles for a wash,” she said. “All funds raised will go towards buying sanitary pads for girls in schools around Coal Ridge. It’s a way to party for a cause.”
She added that the event is being led primarily by women, breaking the norm in a male-dominated space.
“You’ll see more ladies on the frontline today — washing cars, engaging with the crowd — and creating an inclusive, festive atmosphere.”
The Asaasepa Kwahu Easter Festival continues with more events lined up over the weekend, promising unforgettable experiences and meaningful community engagement.
