Kwabena Asomaning has taken over as the President of the Rotary Club of Accra North Kaneshie for the 2024-2025 Rotary year.

In his acceptance speech, he said the 2023-2024 Rotary year has been one of remarkable achievements and impactful service.

Speaking under the theme,  the magic of Rotary “Create Hope in the World”, he said the club will actively participate in district and zonal programmes and events to strengthen the bonds within the larger Rotary community.

“We will build on the past year’s achievements and continue experiencing the magic of Rotary through service, fellowship, and dedication to our community,” Rotarian Asomaning added.

The district governor David Osei Amankwaa disabused the minds of the public against some misconceptions that the Rotary Club is a secret society.

He said there is nothing secret about it and that the only secret about Rotary is service “Our meetings are very friendly and open to everybody even children and we encourage diversity, equity and inclusion,” Amankwaa said.

The immediate past president, James Tuade described his 18-month tenure as remarkable. He expressed excitement at the handing over of the mantle to Kwabena Asomaning.

He said the main focus is to put smiles on the faces of people through the establishment of several projects.

Rotarian Tuade reminded the public about the Rotary Club’s mantra which is service above self.

The occasion was also used to reward some members of the Rotary Club of Accra-North Kaneshie who have distinguished themselves over the year of service.

The district comprises over 2,000 members and 68 rotary clubs throughout the country.
