The management of the Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) has pardoned at least 648 students who were asked to defer their programmes for paying their fees late.
A notice from the school on Monday (14 August) said it will now grant students a window to register and write their end-of-semester examination instead of deferring their programmes.
The affected students agitated on campus after they were sanctioned with a referral.
The university, however, says a “special examination shall be organised for non-registered students” adding that “all affected students who have paid their fees in full and appropriate penalties qualify to sit for the exams.”
The university has set Tuesday (22 August) for the affected students to furnish their heads of department with their details for consideration.
