Kumasi: MoMo vendor shot dead in broad daylight robbery at Krofrom

Residents in the area have expressed fear over potential future attacks by armed robbers.

A Mobile Money (MoMo) operator, Patricia Nimako, has lost her life after being shot by suspected armed robbers at Krofrom in the Ashanti Region.

The assailants made away with GH₵10,000 and multiple mobile phones after attacking her at approximately 3:00 PM on Thursday (13 February).

According to an eyewitness, the young lady, said to be in her late 20s, was shot shortly after withdrawing money from a bank near her kiosk.

“We tried to chase the perpetrators, but their gun scared us. They fled in the direction of Airport Road,” narrated Evans, a witness at the scene.

She was quickly transported to the Manhyia Government Hospital, where medical personnel confirmed her death.

Residents in the area have expressed fear over potential future attacks by armed robbers.

Police officers have since visited the location to initiate an investigation into the incident.

Robbery attacks on MoMo vendors continue to rise across Ghana, with several cases leading to fatalities or severe injuries.
