Former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan says it will be a tough decision for Mohammed Kudus if his links to Saudi Arabia’s Al Ittihad are true.

Kudus who has spent just one season with West Ham United in England after his move from Ajax has been linked with a potential big-money move to the Saudi Pro League.

According to ESPN, the 23-year-old who starred in his first season in the EPL with the Hammers, could earn a move to the Gulf. Sources indicate Kudus will earn US$300,000 a week in Saudi Arabia three times more than his current salary (US$114,351.30) at West Ham.

In 2011, Gyan made a controversial move to the Gulf joining Al-Ain in the United Arab Emirates from Sunderland.

“If is true, it would be a tough very decision, I cannot decide for him, it depends on his people,” Gyan said on the Asaase Breakfast Show.

“He is young but if you watch the business module of the game, although we are playing with passion football it is business.”

He lamented that many Ghanaian footballers now live miserable lives after football all because of financial difficulty.

“In Ghana here, they only mention my name when the Black Stars are playing. Many players have died after retirement. It did not even become news; we did not hear of it. The people who would want to see you play in the EPL are thinking of their personal interest.”
