Kotoko to announce Ocloo, Eduafo as Coach Prosper Narteh’s assistants

The new Asante Kotoko backroom staff is taking shape after yesterday’s appointment of new head coach Narteh

Kumasi Asante Kotoko are expected to announce the appointments of David Ocloo and John Eduafo as the club’s new assistant coaches.

The pair have already signed their contracts, which are no longer in duration than new coach Prosper Narteh Ogum’s – a period of two years each.

Ocloo, a former Liberty Professionals coach, will join the club as its first assistant coach. He has previously worked with Wa All Stars and Maranatha FC of Togo. He holds a Confederation of African Football AF License A coaching certificate.

He will be joined in the Kotoko dugout by the former Inter Allies assistant coach Eduafo. Before working with Inter Allies, John Eduafo was the assistant coach at another Premier League club, Elmina Sharks.

Coach’s top choice

The pair were hired after Prosper Narteh informed the club of his preference for them to work as his assistants.

Asaase Sports understands that the club will reassign Abdulai Gazzale, one of the coaches who served as an assistant to former coach Mariano Barreto, to be the head of the Kotoko youth team.

He is due for a refresher course in the United Kingdom and will begin work on his return.

The club will discontinue its relationship with Johnson Smith, whose contract runs out at the end of next month.
