Asaase Radio’s Caroline Sampson wins Media Personality of the Year Award at Women’s Choice Awards Africa
Sampson was nominated in the Media Personality of the Year category alongside Sister Sandy, Jay Foley and Waibe YB
Caroline Sampson, host of Asaase Radio’s mid-morning show Café 995, has won the Media Personality of the Year award at this year’s Women’s Choice Awards.
This is the second year in a row that Sampson has received nominations for this awards.
Expressing her excitement for the award, Caroline said, “I got nominated last year, I think influencer of the year, and this year I got nominated again in two categories; as influencer of the year, and media personality of the year I was part of the few industry mates who are also very, very good at what they do, so yeah maybe lowkey I didn’t think it would come to me, because last year I attended and it didn’t so this year I said ok, no problem, whatever it is that happens, it’s all good.”
“Only for me to see my notifications blowing up, go on the internet and see that I had won, I said ow boy it feels very, very good after sixteen years being recognised as a media personality basically just crowning me Queen. You know considering that I also celebrated sixteen years last week, it couldn’t have come at a better time and I’m very, very happy about it,” she added
Sampson started working in the media in 2005 after competing in the Miss Malaika beauty pageant. She has worked with Atlantis Radio, Choice FM, TV 3 and YFM.
She was nominated in the Media Personality of the Year category alongside Sister Sandy, Jay Foley and Waibe YB.
