KLM flight aborted at KIA over bird strike

The Ghana Airport Company Limited (GACL) says it has started investigations into the Friday night incident

A KLM flight to Amsterdam was aborted on Friday evening at the Kotoka International Airport due to a bird strike incident “close to the windshield of the aircraft”, an official statement said.

The Ghana Airport Company Limited (GACL) in a statement dated 4 September 2021, said the KLM Royal Dutch Airline will reschedule its aborted flight to Amsterdam as soon as possible.

It said investigations into the cause of the incident have begun.

A bird strike involves a collision between a bird and an aircraft that is in flight, take off or landing roll.
