Government has appointed celebrated broadcaster and culture advocate Kwasi Kyei Darkwah, popularly known as KKD, as Special Envoy to the Caribbean Region.
The appointment forms part of ongoing efforts by the Foreign Affairs Ministry to strengthen Ghana’s diplomatic footprint and deepen cooperation with countries across the Caribbean.
In this new role, KKD will support government’s mission to enhance cultural exchange, promote Ghana’s creative and tourism sectors, and advance economic partnerships with states including Cuba, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Trinidad and Tobago, and Barbados.
His mandate also covers facilitating trade and investment discussions, coordinating engagements between Ghana and Caribbean governments, and championing shared development priorities.
The appointment is expected to open new avenues for collaboration in areas such as creative arts, education, tourism, and economic development as Ghana positions itself as a strategic partner within the region.
