Ghana’s economy should start picking up by April 2023, says Gabby

The political strategist has listed four things that the government must accomplish to get the country’s economy back on track

Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, a political strategist and prominent member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has said the country’s economy should start picking up by April 2023.

The government last Monday (5 December) launched a domestic debt exchange programme to get the economy back on track.

Launching the programme, the Minister for Finance Ken Ofori-Atta said, “This debt exchange provides an orderly way to put our economy back on track.”

Ofori-Atta said the Domestic Debt Exchange Programme is the surest way to get the economy back on track, create jobs and protect incomes for Ghanaians.

However, in a tweet, Asare Otchere-Darko has listed four things that the government must accomplish to get the country’s economy back on track.

“Four key things government must accomplish 1. Domestic debt exchange 2. External debt restructuring 3. Pass budget & its revenue measures 4. Secure IMF programme. Pray we conclude all this very soon to begin 2023 with stability and predictability. Economy should start picking up by April.”
