Kennedy Agyapong cuts sod for cardiothoracic centre at 37 Military Hospital

The centre will include facilities such as a cardio training suite, conference room, VVIP clinic and three operating theatres

Kennedy Agyapong, the MP for Assin Central, has cut the sod for the construction of an 80-bed cardiothoracic centre at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra.

The centre will have a training suite and conference room, VVIP clinic, three operating theatres, intensive-care unit, executive clinic and a dialysis unit, among other facilities.

At present, cardiothoracic cases at the 37 Military Hospital are referred to Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital for treatment.

The sod-cutting ceremony follows a promise the MP made in 2020, when he presented personal protective material to the 37 Military Hospital in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Chief of Defence Staff, Seth Amoama, thanked the MP for the kind gesture, and said it is a project of great significance to health care in Ghana.
