Emerging Ghanaian musician Kay Kamz is steadily gaining attention within the Afro music landscape as she builds a reputation for blending emotional storytelling with Afro-inspired sounds.
Born Kate Addai Mununkum in Amsterdam in the Netherlands to Ghanaian parents, the singer-songwriter draws on both her Ghanaian heritage and European influences to shape her musical style.
Kay Kamz explores multiple genres including Afrobeats, Highlife, Afropop and Afro-soul, producing music that combines rhythmic Afro sounds with reflective themes centred on love, personal growth and human relationships.
Her career as a recording artiste took a major step in April 2022 with the release of her debut project, The Love Partner EP, which introduced listeners to her style of emotionally driven songwriting and melodic Afro-inspired production.
The project focused on themes such as relationships, vulnerability and emotional development, positioning her as an emerging voice within the Afro music space.
In July 2025, she followed up with the release of The Way You Love Me, a single that highlights her evolving songwriting ability and growing artistic confidence.
The track reinforces her approach of pairing contemporary Afro production with expressive vocals and emotionally centred lyrics.
As a new generation of Ghanaian artistes continues to expand the reach of Afro music globally, Kay Kamz is gradually establishing her presence in the industry with a sound that blends Ghanaian musical influences with a modern global appeal.
The artiste is expected to release more music in the coming months as she continues to develop her sound and expand her audience.
