Kofi Adu Domfeh, a seasoned journalist and Senior News Editor at the Kumasi unit of The Multimedia Group, has been elected as the new Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA).

Domfeh secured victory by a narrow margin, polling 16 votes against 15 garnered by his opponent, in what was one of the most closely fought regional races in the nationwide GJA elections.

Known for his advocacy on ethical journalism and climate change reporting, Domfeh campaigned on a three-point vision that emphasised professional integrity, ethical practice, and accountability within the media landscape of the Ashanti Region.

“I am humbled by the support and trust,” he said following the announcement of the results.
“Together, we will raise the bar of professionalism, protect the integrity of our work, and ensure the welfare of every journalist is prioritised.”

Domfeh will lead a new regional executive team comprising Nicholas Osei-Wusu of GBC as Vice Chairman, Beatrice Spio Gabbrah of Media General as General Secretary, and Dr Neta Kris Abiana Pasram as Treasurer.
