Jabaah pledges accountable leadership after West Mamprusi MCE confirmation

Following his confirmation, Jabaah, who previously worked with the Ghana Education Service in West Mamprusi and currently serves as the assemblyman for the Nayirifong Electoral Area, pledged to lead with humility, transparency and a strong sense of public service

Mohammed Rabiu Jabaah has been confirmed as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for West Mamprusi, securing an overwhelming endorsement with 41 out of 44 votes, representing 97% of the total ballots cast.

The confirmation took place on Tuesday (15 April 2025), at the West Mamprusi Municipal Assembly Hall in Walewale.

Following his confirmation, Jabaah, who previously worked with the Ghana Education Service (GES) in West Mamprusi and currently serves as the assemblyman for the Nayirifong Electoral Area, pledged to lead with humility, transparency and a strong sense of public service.

Addressing members of the assembly, he stated:
“My good people of West Mamprusi, I accept today in all humility the responsibility you have entrusted in my hands as your chief servant. I pledge to remain accessible, responsible, and accountable, with your interest always as my overriding priority.”

He acknowledged the challenges ahead but expressed optimism in the collective capacity of the assembly members to deliver on the development aspirations of residents.

“In all sincerity, Honourable members, the task is daunting and expectations are high. But I believe this house is composed of members with the right expertise to tackle our development challenges,” he added.

The West Mamprusi Municipal Assembly, established in 1988 and upgraded to municipal status in 2018 under Legislative Instrument (LI) 2276, is one of six administrative assemblies in the North East Region.

Jabaah’s confirmation marks a new chapter in the municipality’s leadership, with residents hopeful of a renewed focus on development and inclusive governance.
