Ghanaian fashion maven Nana Akua Addo once again dominated the red carpet at the 2025 Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards (AMVCA), held in Lagos on 10 May, with a jaw-dropping, tech-infused ensemble that turned heads and set social media abuzz.
Clad in an all-white, fashion-forward gown crafted from wearable ABS material, Nana Akua Addo stunned audiences with a rotating laser-cut design marking a bold and futuristic twist never before seen on the AMVCA stage.
Speaking to the media at the event, the style icon revealed that her dramatic look was the result of months of intricate planning and international collaboration.
“This outfit was planned by my Indian and Nigerian designer. It took us a year and a half to plan it. For me to be able to do what I do, a lot of thought processes went into it because it was fashion-infused with technology,” she stated.
She added that the rotating mechanism, one of the gown’s standout features, took several trials to perfect.
“We wanted to find out how it was going to work. We practiced it several times and it wasn’t working but finally, it did,” she said.
The daring design has since sparked widespread praise, cementing Nana Akua Addo’s status as a fearless fashion trailblazer on the continent’s biggest entertainment stage.
