The former Greater Accra regional minister Ishmael Ashitey has passed away at the age of 67, top government officials have announced.
Ashitey died on Friday 7 January 2022 at the International Maritime Hospital in Tema.
“My condolences to the Ashitey family on the passing of Mr Ishmael Ashitey, who was an ex-minister of state, former Tema East MP and NPP regional chairman. My thoughts are with them at this difficult period,” Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia said in a Facebook post.
He served as the MP for Tema East from the second to the fourth parliaments of the Fourth Republic of Ghana.
