Curfew/Bomaa/Interior Ministry/Muntaka Mubarak

The Ministry of Interior has announced the renewal of curfew hours in Bomaa township and its surrounding communities in the Ahafo Region.

The new curfew, which takes effect today, Tuesday (29 April 2025), will be enforced from 11:00 PM to 4:00 AM daily.

The decision, issued through an Executive Instrument, forms part of ongoing efforts by government to maintain law and order in the area following recent tensions.

In a statement signed by the Minister for the Interior, Mubarak Mohammed Muntaka ,residents are urged to remain calm and resolve their differences through peaceful and lawful means.

“Government urges Chiefs, Elders, Opinion Leaders, Youth and people of the area to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges confronting them, as well as to use non-violent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace in the area.

“Any person found with any arms or ammunition will be arrested and prosecuted,” the statement read.

The Ministry also reiterated that a total ban remains in place on the possession of arms, ammunition, and any offensive weapons within Bomaa and its environs.

The Ministry emphasised that the curfew is a temporary security measure, and called on the community to cooperate fully with security agencies to restore lasting peace.
