Inaki Williams reaches milestone in Athletic Club’s win over Atlético

Inaki Williams has joined a select group of 20 Lions with 400 or more official appearances for Spanish club, Athletic Club.

After playing in Bilbao’s 2-0 win over Atlético Madrid at San Mames on Saturday, the Ghanaian forward has enhanced his legacy in Athletic’s history.

The 29-year-old made his debut nine seasons ago on 6 December 2014 in a league match against Córdoba – and has been a regular in Los Rojiblancos’ team.

Inaki established a record of 251 consecutive LaLiga appearances, surpassing now second-placed Juan Antonio Larrañaga on 1 October 2021.

The streak began on 20 April 2016, with a match against Atlético Madrid in Bilbao, and ended on 22 January 2023, almost seven years later.

He has netted 94 times between LaLiga, the Copa, the Europa League and the Supercopa, and is already in Athletic’s top-20 all-time goalscorers.

But one stands out above all others, the goal which won Bilabak theirthird Spanish Super Cup.
