Another vehicle with cattle set ablaze on Walewale-Bolga road

The vehicle was traveling with cattle from the Upper East Region to the southern part of the country but was attacked around Gbimsi

Unknown assailants over the weekend set ablaze a truck load of cattle in Gbimsi in the West Mamprusi municipality of the North East Region.

The vehicle was traveling with cattle from the Upper East Region to the southern part of the country but was attacked around Gbimsi.

The attack is believed to be linked with the protracted conflict in Bawku in the Upper East Region.

Eyewitnesses said the driver of the truck and a passenger got injured in the attack and have been rushed to the Walewale Government Hospital for treatment.

A bystander was also hit by a stray bullet in the course of the melee, another eyewitness told Asaase News.

The police are yet to give details on the incident.
