Joe Wise: I have a cordial relationship with Bagbin, no tension exists

Joe Wise, as he is affectionately called, said that he has a pleasant working relationship with the Speaker despite the seeming friction between the two

Joseph Osei-Owusu, the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament has said that there is no rift between him and his boss Alban Bagbin.

Joe Wise, as he is affectionately called, said that he has a pleasant working relationship with the Speaker despite the seeming friction between the two.

The two have vehemently disagreed on certain critical decisions in and out of Parliament.

However, speaking on Asaase Radio’s news analysis and current affairs show – The Forum – on Saturday (28 May), Joe Wise said their disagreement on issues has not impeded their working rapport.

“We are very cordial,” the Bekwai MP said. “Generally, men are not fussy. We disagree, we speak about it and we never talked about it again; we’re working.”

“We’re very cordial, yesterday [Friday] when we adjourned [sitting], we sat down, discussed our programme and we know that we’re meeting next week. [There’s no bad blood] at all. People expect that, but there’s no such thing happening. We disagree on a matter and we put that behind us, we’re working as a team,” Joe Wise said.
