I’m not reponsible for Shatta Wale’s show cancellation, says Stonebwoy
It has been rumoured that Stonebwoy was behind the cancellation of Shatta Wale’s show at the University of Ghana
Dancehall and reggae artist Livingstone Etse Satekla, also known as Stonebwoy, has stated that he is not responsible for Shatta Wale’s show cancellation at the TF hostel.
The TGMA Artist of the Year says that while he is aware of his influence, he will not abuse the power he has.
On 8 June 2024, a scheduled concert featuring dancehall artist Shatta Wale at James Topp Nelson Yankah Hall (TF Hostel) was cancelled, leading to a social media uproar. Despite Shatta Wale’s anticipation and promotion for his performance, the Office of the Dean of Students said it had not approved the event.
It has been rumoured that Stonebwoy was behind the cancellation of Shatta Wale’s show at the University of Ghana.
However, speaking on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Wednesday (12 June), Stonebwoy said, “I have power… But I cannot abuse it.“
“That was really ridiculous to have heard that [I had Shatta’s show cancelled] because it’s just like waking up in the morning to being accused strongly of extra powers. You know I have power but...”
“And I have nothing at all to do with it, so I’m surprised where the accusations will be coming from,” he added.
“But I believe it’s normal, as you know, with a brother like him [Shatta Wale] to always find a way to make me look very powerful, he believes in your power.”
“That’s the only thing I can say about it because I don’t even know where to start. Like, it’s ridiculous.”
The 2024 TGMA Artist of the Year added, “I ain’t clashing any more. The thing is, if anybody has to clash with me with all due respect, I think you have to be on my level.”
