I’m not religious, i’m spiritual: Ajagurajah clarifies his identity and mission

Speaking on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Friday (4 July), the leader of the Ajagurajah Movement said he is not a Christian, nor a religious figure, but a deeply spiritual person

Kwabena Boakye Asiamah, popularly known as Bishop Ajagurajah, has clarified a long-standing misconception about his spiritual identity.

Speaking on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Friday (4 July), the leader of the Ajagurajah Movement said he is not a Christian, nor a religious figure, but a deeply spiritual person.

He explained that “bishop” is merely a nickname and that his teachings are rooted in spirituality rather than traditional religion.

Ajagurajah said the movement draws its power from a spirit he refers to as Ajagurajah, an angelic being he describes as “the warrior of God” with Portuguese roots.

“I am only his servant,” he said, explaining that spirituality is about the relationship between soul and energy, rather than organised doctrine.

He also responded to critics who label his movement as occult, saying the term is often misunderstood.

“If a pastor believes he can heal someone, he’s practising mysticism. That’s occult. What matters is the source of your power,” he said.
