A new independent confidential poll of delegates of Saturday’s special electoral college in the process to choose the 2024 presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party NPP), details of which have been seen by Asaase News, puts the Vice President, Dr Mahumudu Bawumia, in a commanding lead of 71.7%.
His nearest rival, the former minister for trade and industry, Alan Kyerematen, lags behind with 14.3%. Kennedy Agyepong, the Assin Central constituency law maker, stays closely on the tail of the former Trade and Industry Minister, with 11% of the delegates questioned.
The remaining seven candidates share the leftovers of 3.1%. The independent poll, among others, also indicates that at the regional level, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is set to win majority votes in all 16 regions. Below is the projected outcome:
