IGP interdicts drunk police officer in viral video

The police said in a statement Wednesday that the officer is facing a service inquiry over his conduct. He has also been referred to a clinical psychologist for further examination

The Inspector General of Police George Akuffo Dampare has with immediate effect interdicted a policeman caught on tape in a “perceived drunken state.”

The police said in a statement Wednesday that the officer is facing a service inquiry over his conduct. He has also been referred to a clinical psychologist for further examination.

“In addition, he will be referred to the Police Medical Board for thorough review and support towards rehabilitation where necessary,” the statement issued by the director-general of the Police Service ACP Kwesi Ofori said.

The police officer is seen in the widely circulated social media video wobbling and finding it difficult to calculate his steps.
