Government extends deadline of domestic dollar bonds and pension funds

The government launched an alternative offer pursuant to which it invited eligible holders to exchange approximately GHC31 billion of their domestic notes and bonds for a package of new bonds

The government has announced an administrative extension of the domestic dollar bonds and pension funds alternative offer programme to 25 August 2023.

A statement issued by the Finance Ministry on Tuesday (21 August 2023) said the “administrative extension affords holders that have not tendered, additional time to secure internal approvals to participate, through this administrative window to participate in this exchange”.

In July 2023, the government launched an alternative offer pursuant to which it invited eligible holders to exchange approximately GHC31 billion of their domestic notes and bonds for a package of new bonds.
